Members of the European Parliament Called for the Sanctioning of Milorad Dodik

Al Jazeera Balkans reports: During the debate on the political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, European parliamentarians called for the sanctioning of Milorad Dodik, the president of the SNSD (Alliance of Independent Social Democrats), stressing that the secessionist intentions of entity Republika Srpska are among the biggest challenges BiH is facing.

Another challenge is the deadlock in negotiations on reforms that need to be implemented in order to bring BiH into line with EU standards. Michael Gahler, who presented the report for Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that the country is at a crossroads and that the political agreement in Brussels is a symbol of its European perspective. He reminded of the importance of the role of the high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the mission of EU Altea.
